Obituary For Bruce Travis Spencer

Bruce Travis Spencer, 63, was born on February 16, 1963, to the late James E. Spencer, Sr. and Irene Folsom. He departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Spencer.

Bruce was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bruce was known as a very hard worker. Bruce had a kind heart, gentle spirit, and respect he showed to everyone he met. His willingness to help others and his warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bruce leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Alysia Wooten Spencer of Clyattville, Georgia; his daughter, Chelsea Denson (Javarius) of Clyattville, Georgia; and his son, Denzel Spencer (Crystal) of Thomasville, Georgia. He was a proud grandfather to six beloved grandchildren: Teyanna, Javarius Jr., Daquon, Jamal, Amjia, and La'kasha.

He is also survived by his stepmother, Karen Spencer of Dixie, Georgia.

Bruce leaves behind three sisters: Pamela Griffin (Curtis) of Dixie, Georgia; Tracy Spencer of Jacksonville, Florida; and Heather Spencer of Dixie, Georgia.

He is also survived by six brothers: Alfonso Stevens of Miami, Florida; James Spencer, Jr. of Dixie, Georgia; Farris Spencer (Natalie) of Thomasville, Georgia; Tracy Spencer (Celesta) of Valdosta, Georgia; Patrick Spencer of Suffolk, Virginia; and Michael Spencer (Asia) of Thomasville, Georgia. Special brother, Ernest Roundtree.

Bruce also leaves to cherish his memory his special friends, James and India Turner and Bennie Odum along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness.

Public Viewing: Friday, July 17, 2026 from 12:00-6:00 PM in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel.

Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Bruce Spencer will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Quitman, Georgia. Burial: Spencer Cemetery.
