Obituary For Darrell Thomas, Sr.
The late Mr. Darrell Lamar Thomas Sr. was called home on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Valdosta, GA.
Mr. Darrell Thomas Sr. was a native of Brooks County and a graduate of Brooks County High School, class of 86. He later enlisted in the United States Navy from 1986-1990 as a retired veteran. He was a member of West Hill Street Church of Christ. Darrell L. Thomas was born April 1, 1966 to Mildred Carter and William Thomas.
Darrell Thomas Sr. was preceded in death by his stepfather Lawrence Carter, his son Darrell Thomas Jr., and his sisters Jackie Christian and Gwendolyn Dunlap.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and dedicated wife, Aleatha “Leat” Thomas of Valdosta, GA; his loving mother, Mildred Carter; his beloved children, LaKeisha Thomas, Temiria Thomas both of Quitman, GA, Keldreca Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Ashaki Roberts of Warner Robins, GA, Darren Thomas (Nove’l) of Las Vegas, Monchez Thomas, Daricka Thomas, and Darreona Thomas all of Valdosta, GA. A special god daughter Kenyata Seay of Quitman, GA. One sister Detra Maynard (Tracy) of Macon, GA; four brothers; Daniel Inman of Seattle Washington, Leon Thomas (Denise), Terrance Thomas (Mae) both of Valdosta, GA, and Anthony Thomas (Patricia) of Gainesville, FL. Four special brother-in law, John “Bam” Christian of Quitman, GA, Richard Thomas (Teshara), Michael Thomas both of Atlanta, GA, and Sylvester Thomas Jr. (Sherette) of Riverview, FL. He has ten grandchildren; Ayunnah, Curtis Jr., Mikhye, Prince Yuri, Jamal Jr., A’Yari, Jahmir, Nyla, JahKari, and Monchez Jr.; A devoted mother-in-law, Roxanne Thomas; A loving and dedicated friend; Chuck Megginson.; a host of special friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Service for Darrell L Thomas will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Shumate Street Church of Christ, Quitman, GA, Min. Tony D. Herring, Sr. Eulogist; Family Visitation: 6:00-7:00 PM, Friday, January 17, 2020; Public Viewing, Friday, January 17, 2020: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Quitman, Georgia.
