Roger Terrice Mickens was born on August 11, 1967 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Alma G. Mickens and Preston Mickens both of Quitman, GA.
He attended Brooks County High School where he later graduated and enlisted in the United States Navy. He later married the love of his life, Detrich Cason Mickens and helped raised five children; Christopher, Octavius, Ieshia, Sandricka, and Kameshia. He had 17 grandchildren who he also loved dearly. Roger Terrice Mickens leaves to cherish his precious memories, his Loving Wife, Detrich Cason; Children, Christopher, Octavius, Ieshia, Sandricka, and Kameshia; Father, Preston Mickens; 6 Sisters, Jacqueline Powell of Quitman, GA, Brenda Berrien (Thomas) of Douglas, GA, Francis Phillips (Derrick), Willie Mae Butler, Suezette Silas (Timothy) all of Quitman, GA; 3 Brothers: John Mickens (Marsha), of Baxley, GA, Christopher Mickens, Jeremiah Mickens, Micheal McIntosh all of Quitman, GA; 2 Sisters- in-Law, Carla Axson and Andrea Cason; 2 Brothers-in- Law, Willie Fred (Arline) and Darion Hatten; 5 Aunts and 2 Great Aunts; He also has 2 Special Nieces, Tammy (Shake) and Danielle and one Special Nephew Joseph (Crum); A special granddaughter Star; A special Goddaughter Amaree; 4 Special Friends; Jimmy Bartee. Kenny Mapp, Ken Miles and Willie Terry; A host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Roger T. Mickens will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Shumate Street Church of Christ, Quitman, Georgia; Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
Public Viewing: Friday, June 24, 2022 from 1:00-6:00 PM in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel.
