Obituary For Sidney Renee Gordon Murrell

Mrs. Sidney Renee Gordon Murrell, was born on May 29, 1965, in Homerville, Georgia, to Robert Earl Gordon, Sr. and the late Helen Williams Gordon. She peacefully departed this life on February 27, 2025, at the age of 59.

Sidney was preceded in death by her beloved mother; Helen Williams Gordon, and her siblings, Brother Travis Gordon and Sister Clarice E. Hood.

She began her early education in the Clinch County School System and later graduated with the Class of 1983 from Columbia High School in Lake City, Florida.

Sidney was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. While she cherished her five children dearly, her heart truly belonged to her precious grandchildren and great-grandchild, Kyrie.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted Husband of 30 years, Gary Murrell of West Palm Beach, Florida; her loving father, Robert Earl Gordon, Sr: (Ethel); and her five children: Sharita McQuay (Albert), France Gordon Sr., Vanessa Gordon of Valdosta, GA, Clarence Gordon (Cheyenne) of Lake Wales, FL, and Mozella Grainson of West Palm Beach, FL.

She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Keiona, Tamiah, Demarrion, Ke'Nyriah, Jeremiah, Myla, Christopher, France Jr:, Amir, Kadince, Ka'Layah, Amari, Jo'Coreyah, and Corrionna; and a doting great-grandmother to Kyrie.

Sidney is also survived by her loving siblings: Marlina Lacey of Homerville, GA; Tracey Nixon of Jacksonville, FL; Joan Wilson and Sandra Edwards of Valdosta, GA: Robbin Atkinson and Robert Earl Gordon, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL; Juan Gordon and Benjamin Edwards of Homerville, GA: Randy Bolds (Kenni) of Waycross, GA; and Tamariay Gordon of St. Petersburg, FL.

She will he deeply missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and special friends, Rachel and Issie. Sidney's legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Sidney Murrell will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:00 in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel.
