Theodore R. Spencer, Jr., passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in Valdosta, Georgia, surrounded by his devoted family.

He was born on October 28, 1961, to the late Theodore Spencer, Sr. and Sarah Stacey Spencer. A proud native of Brooks County, Georgia, Theodore received his formal education through the Brooks County School System and graduated with the Class of 1982.

Theodore was a man who cherished life’s simple pleasures—spending time with his family, working the land through farming, casting a line on a quiet day of fishing, and enjoying the outdoors while hunting.

On August 27, 2008, he united in marriage with the love of his life, Eva Anderson Spencer. Their bond was one of love, laughter, and shared memories.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Eva A. Spencer; his children, Cedric Spencer, Brittany Spencer, and Alyce Solomon; grandchildren, Camille Spencer, Destinee Spencer, and Carter Sharpe; step-daughter, Monica Garrison; Step-Grandchildren, Kyle Way, Kylah Way and Makenzy Hatcher.

He is also survived by his siblings: James Spencer (Kathy) of Tallahassee, FL; Curtis Spencer, Deidra Spencer, and Charnissa Brown (Anthony), all of Quitman, GA; Michael Spencer (Joy) of Waldorf, MD; and Tremayne Spencer (Cheryl).

His extended family includes aunts: Sophia Ronny of Cleveland, OH, and Bell Stacey of Miami, FL; uncle: David Spencer of Cleveland, OH; a host of nieces and nephews: Jamison Spencer, Lastacia Spencer, Latasha Spencer Newson, Shantika Spencer, Michael Spencer, Jr., Sarai Spencer, Kristen Spencer, Michael Gloster, Jr., Alexander Brown, Dysheiha Ray, Tremayne Miley, Jr., and Ke'Licia Lewis.

He also held a special bond with his beloved “sister cousins”: Cleo Braham, Jerusha Stacey, and Sonja Stacey.

Theodore’s legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Theodore R. Spencer, Jr. will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Shumate Street Church of Christ, Quitman, Georgia. Burial: Family Cemetery.
