Arneze Miller Finney, affectionately known as “Neze” began her earthly journey on May 1, 1928 in the town of Albany, state of Georgia to the late Alfred James Miller and Lucinda Miller Huff as the eldest of three daughters. After the dissolved of this union, two additional siblings were embraced. Her parents and three of her siblings Dorothy Kendrick, Ceola Cooke and Robert Miller preceded her in death. During her years of adolescence, the family moved to Belle Glade. She was educated in Palm Beach County School District, where she attended Everglades Vocational High completing her education at Lake Shore Jr.- Sr. High School. At an early age she met and married the love of her life, the late Robert Finney Sr. As a dedicated wife she was united in Holy Matrimony for more than 54 years. Having a strong penchant to serve the Lord at the age of 16 she became a member of the First-Born Church and later transitioned to Glorious Community under the leadership of Squire Nixon. It was there she received the revelation of being baptized in the name of Jesus in 1955. She remained a faithful member in Glorious for more than 65 year, echoing “I have been saved since I was 16 years old”. As a devout woman of faith, she untiringly served as a Missionary, designee of Noon Day Prayer Service and Church Mother teaching and expounding on the word of the Lord with fidelity. Believing that the old proverb “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” was true, Arneze took upon herself to keep the house of the Lord tidy extending alms unselfishly. Her service was rendered beyond the doors of the church. Many days she prepared homemade biscuits and flapjacks for church visitors and anyone that requested a meal. As her grandchildren increased in number the flapjacks took a twist and was renamed flour bread. For several years she was employed with Wedgeworth and A-Duda Farms. Later, she was employed as a contract worker with the United States Postal Service in the city of Belle Glade. Serving as a community advocate for the less fortunate, she would open her doors and pockets to those in need. Arneze leaves to cherish her memories: Five (5) children: Barbara Ann (Carl deceased) Williams of Boynton Beach, Fl., Robert Finney Jr. (Carmen); Ronald Finney (JoAnn), Lester Finney (Katrina) all of Belle Glade, Fl. and Donald Finney (Glenda) of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
