CELEBRATION OF LIFE Bishop Berry Humphrey, Jr. I was born on July 23, 1933, in Quincy, FL. My youngest years were spent in Americus, GA; later, my family relocated to Belle Glade, FL. I was the middle child of 2 other siblings, Clara Dee and Lee Alfred, who preceded me in death. My father, Berry Humphrey, Sr., died when I was very young and my remembrance of him is very limited. However, my mother, Bertha Humphrey Pargo, was a force to reckon with. My mother was a very strong, hard worker, respectful woman who passed those values unto her children. My Legacy/My Story I obtained my education in Palm Beach County. Subsequently, armed with little more than a dream, I enrolled into the military, where I remained for the next 2 years. In 1962, I met and married my wife, Virginia Darrisaw Humphrey. Because of various resources in Belle Glade, we decided to remain in Belle Glade. Living around the lake had many advantages and opportunities. As a result of, I was an avid fisherman and farmer. I was known throughout the Glades as one of the greatest farming supervisors. My farming venue included employment with the following companies; Sam Senter Farm, Sam Knight Farm, PPI (Pahokee Product Inc) Farm, and Double D Farm. My Best Life My best life began in 1961, when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I answered God’s call to Pastor a church; through my obedience, Miracle by Faith Revival Center was birthed in 1967. Our humble beginning began at Prewitt Village Camp with family members and a few others. In 1977, we marched into our new building in South Bay, FL. My Memories will be cherished by My lovely wife, Virginia Humphrey, 2 children; Donna Humphrey Stinson, Orlando, FL; J D Patrick, Belle Glade, FL; 7 grandchildren; Harry, Javan, Sean, Julius, Janeria, Jaida, and Jaiden; 6 great-grandchildren; Javen, Jr, Kylee, Jalea, Kristian, Laila, and Julius, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. God Children: Mary Johnson, Essie McPhee, Dennis Hobbs, David Hobbs, Antoinette Johnson, Tamara Riley.
John 14: 1-4 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
