Remembering The Life & Legacy of Tiger
On December 24, 1978, Danny and JoAnn Ray gave birth to our Family’s Gentle Giant, David Dennard Harden, affectionately known to many as “Tiger”.
Tiger was raised in the Okeechobee Center, “The Project”. He attended school with the Palm Beach County School District. Tiger graduated from Glades Central Community High School Class of 1997. He participated in basketball, which he loved passionately. Tiger attended Palm Beach State College where he studied to become an Electrician. He pursued his career with John Brockman Electric, BK Electric, RAMS Electric and several other companies during his career. Tiger also had a love for children. He became a coach with the Gators Community League Football Team. He always loved to be on the sideline with his son, nephews, and their teammates to inspire them. He always spoke highly of their potential and took, as many as he could fit, on the back of his green truck home after practice. Being with those young men was the joy of his day.
On February 2, 2021 David Denard Harden entered eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his mother Joann Ray. Tiger was very family oriented. He was honored to be a father. His life was devoted to being a great father. He leaves cherished memories with his three children, David “Lil Tiger'' Harden Jr., Da’ Tyjah Harden and Kyrin Harden. He filled the shoes as father figure to Bobby Bryant III, Lynyrd Evens Jr., and Da’Myrii Thomas. Tiger loved and adored each of them. He wanted to instill the same family values in them as he possessed. To him family is everything. Tiger wanted them to know as many family members as possible and to always stay in close contact with family. Tiger adored the love of his life. He leaves special memories to cherish with Jessica "CP" Cannon. Tiger loved his sisters and brothers. He was the epitome of “brotherly love”. He leaves cherished memories with his siblings, Tangela Seago, Demetria Ray, Erika Ray, Daren Ray (Erika), Danny Ray (Darrisha), Dermyll Ray (Monique), William Moreland and Keyshad Ray. He was the most “ greedy” of the bunch. He often replaced their cares with laughter and encouraged them to enjoy life.
Tiger was the third of the bunch. Us siblings would say that he was the “favorite of us all”. He leaves memories and holds a special part of his father’s heart, Danny Ray. He also loved and cherished his stepmother, Shelia Ray, and step -sister Jovonda “Nikki” Brown. Tiger’s thoughts and spirit was “Family is Family”. “Uncle Tiger” is what they called him. He would ride or die for his nieces and nephews. He was the family babysitter and would gather them all, along with his kids to sit for hours to talk about their future plans, music, movies, and tell jokes. He leaves cherished memories with his nephews, Dion, Leonard, Octavious, Roberson, Andrew Jr., Steve Jr., Gregory Jr., Dillon, Darryl, Danny Jr., Derrmyl, Der’rell, Dervorour, Jerrmyll, Jer’Vonta, Dermello, and Drexler. He leaves cherished memories with his nieces, Andrewnique, Alexiya, Jimterria, Daisea, Crystal, Danaya, Danaja, Dana, Dania, Danielle, Der’myaha, Jer’niyah, and Keysia. Tiger stepped in after the passing of Relatives to ensure that Devontae and Lewnorris were always on the right path. He was always a man of his word.
Tiger always made time for family. He loved laughing and joking with his uncles and aunts. He leaves memories and forever smiles with his uncles and aunts, Louis Gary (Caroline), Ellis Burden, Kathy Burden, Brenda Burden, Shirley Harden, Vera Harden (Calvin), and Phyllis McRae.
Tiger’s close friendship meant the world to him and those who knew him. He leaves cherished memories with his friends Antonio Frazier, Cornelius Brown, and his cousin, Chegg Johnson. Tiger also leaves unforgettable memories with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
