Joe Lewis “J.J.” Donaldson Jr. entered this world on September 18, 2003, at Glades General
Hospital in Belle Glade, Florida, born to Mr. Joe Lewis Donaldson Sr. and Ms. Renaee Grant.
From the beginning, JJ carried a quiet strength and gentle spirit that left a lasting impression on
everyone who knew him.
JJ was educated in the public schools throughout the Glades area, where he formed meaningful
friendships and touched many lives. He was known for his determination, heart, and the way he
always strove to build a better future for himself.
JJ later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked as a driver operating the Tomo Fault Lifter.
Though dedicated to his work, his true passion was modeling. He found joy and confidence in
expressing himself through fashion and dreamed of making his mark in the industry.
JJ had a reserved nature, often preferring solitude, but those closest to him knew the depth of his
heart. He was highly skilled with electronics—a natural gift that amazed those around him. He
was deeply proud of his father and shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings, who were his
world. One of the simple pleasures that always brought a smile to his face was a plate of Auntie
Rose’s soul food.
From a young age, Joe was involved in his church community, singing in the youth choir at St.
Paul’s Church of God in Christ. As he matured, his faith deepened. Before his passing, JJ made
the decision to turn his life over to God and worked to build a personal relationship with Him.
He often shared with his aunts that he had “a talk with God,” and those close to him witnessed
the peace and strength that faith brought into his life. JJ had a beautiful singing voice and became
a devout prayer warrior, leaning on his faith with sincerity and purpose.
Even during his suffering, JJ remained gracious and respectful to his caregivers. He was known
for his impeccable manners. He greeted every nurse and doctor with a kind “yes ma’am” or “yes
sir,” and never failed to say “thank you.” His humility and gratitude left a lasting impression on
everyone who cared for him.
On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Hospice of the Palm Beaches, Joe Lewis “J.J.” Donaldson, Jr.
heard the voice of Jesus saying, “Come unto me and rest. Lay down thy weary one. Lay down
thy head upon my breast.”
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Maggie Donaldson. He leaves to
cherish precious memories his devoted father, Joe Donaldson Sr; loving mother, Renaee Grant;
caring grandmother, Ms. Theresa, and a nurturing aunt Rosa Donaldson. He is also survived by
his eleven brothers: Troy, MarKevius, Joe Lewis, Andrew, Corey, Tremaine, Jermaine, Shane,
Akeile, Prince Kyngston, and Kawhi; and three beloved sisters: Kymba, Kynah, and Zabry. JJ’s
life and memory will also be carried on by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and
friends who loved him dearly.

JJ was a God-fearing young man, devoted to his family, faithful to his friends, and committed to
his walk with Christ. Though his time with us was brief, his impact was deep. His legacy lives on
in the hearts of all who knew him.
