Martina Dominique was born on May 6, 1934, in Kenscoff, Haiti. She was the 6th of seven children to the late Mr. DumelFrancoeur and Idelie St. Juste. In 1960, she met her future spouse and had three children, Sonia, Violette, and Eddy, thenthey were separated for five years. After the death of her motherin May of 1971, Martina and Valentin were reunited in holy matrimony on September 11th, and they produced three more children, Carline, Jean Max, and Marie Carmelle. She dedicated her life to raising her children, instilling in them values of kindness, resilience and faith. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and leaves behind an incredible legacy of love for of God and family for multiple generations.
Some of Martina hallmarks is her great love for God, the Eucharist, and unweaving devotion to the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She spent countless hours in Eucharistic adoration every Wednesday and first Fridays, and lead many to Christ.
On May 24, 2026, Pentecost Sunday, Martina spent the morning attending Holy Mass online and singing hymns of praise to God.Later that day, she took a flight to her heavenly home under the wings of the Holy Spirit at 6 pm (The Angelus time).
She is survived by her loving family including her beloved children Sonia Guillaume (Ernst), Violette Joseph (Jean Bernard), Eddy Dominique (Marie Monite), Jean Max Dominique (Anne); Carline, Chantal, et Marie Carmelle Dominique. Her grandchildren Godfrey, Ernest, Melvia and Nirva Guillaume; Vanessa, Venus and Valerie Joseph; Ted and Monica Dominique; Kliver Jude, Khatinah, Chris Djury, Markly and Shishi Dominique. Her great-grandchildren Isabelle Blanc;Chase, Camille and Godfrey Guillaume; Michelle, Emma Marie, and Joseph Salomon; Natalia and Vanessa Dominique.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support and condolences they have received during this difficult time. Thank you for being a part of Martina’s life and for honoring her memory.
