Cousin Mary, your Spirit of Excellence is forever woven into the fabric of our lives. We will Rejoice & be Glad in This Day because you Sowed "FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT" seeds in every life you had the opportunity to touch. Cousin Mary, you spoke with true conviction and with an endearing smile that calmed the savage beast. The Smith Family Reunion evolved into this present day legacy of love, resilience and family devotion as a result of the gleaning efforts of Cousin Mary, Cousin Sara and my mother, Jennetta Davis. Although Mary and Sara have transitioned to be with The Lord, Jennetta is still here with us, let us take advantage of this time and continue to learn all about our history so we can live our lives to the fullest. The one memory I have of Cousin Mary I'd like to share is how much of an encouragement she was in my life. She always Saw The Best In Me. She reminded me that we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but try to live my life in a manner that God would be pleased. A motivator with a heart of gold; her smile was a gentle nudge similar to the nudge we receive from the Holy Spirit(it gently directs our path) Thank you Cousin Mary. We love you always. Mary...One of God's best!!! I recall my cousin's excellence...inside and outside, through and through. She inspired through her achievements and encouraged through her kind words and actions. She was a godly, radiant flower that reached full bloom and made her surroundings better (including us).

The Palm Beach County Library System offers its condolences. Mary served on the Library Advisory Board from 2014-2023, including two years as Board Chair. Her passion for the mission and vision of libraries shone through at every meeting. She will be missed by all her library friends.
