Obituary For Carolyn Inez Bland

SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Homegoing Celebration

With hearts that are heavy yet filled with hope, we announce the Homegoing Services for Pastor Leonard G. Bland and First Lady Carolyn Bland.

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM, family, friends, and the community will gather at King George High School, 10100 Foxes Way, King George, Virginia, to celebrate their lives, their legacy, and their faithful service to God and His people.

A public viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

Pastor Bland and First Lady Bland served with unwavering love, dedication, and faith. Though we grieve their passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life, trusting in the words of our Lord: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” — Matthew 25:23

We ask that you continue to keep the Bland family in your prayers as we honor two lives that were poured out in service to the Kingdom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With hearts full of sorrow yet anchored in the hope of Christ, we announce the passing of First Lady Carolyn Bland, who was called home to glory on February 20, 2026.
A true woman of God, she walked by faith, served with humility, and loved with a gentle and compassionate heart. Her prayers covered many, her wisdom uplifted countless lives, and her unwavering devotion to the Lord was evident in all she did. Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing she now rests in the arms of her Savior.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
We ask that you keep the Bland family lifted in prayer during this time. Funeral arrangements will be announced soon.
Profound sympathy to the family and all who have been impacted by the loss of First Lady Bland and her husband Rev. Bland. Unfortunately, I didn't know either of them but I had heard Rev. Bland a couple times. Certainly this great man of God delivered and taught - full of wisdom and knowledge, and brief , he captured my attention! I was looking forward to hearing him speak again. But our God, in his infinite wisdom, called him and his bride home to rest from their labor. Behind every good man is a phenomenal woman! Servants of God , enter into the Master's house knowing that your labor was not in vain. We are a better people simply because you passed this way. To God be the glory for the great things that you have done and continue to do.
Cynthia Pitts-Blagmon
Lord, how we loved to hear him preach. One of the most impactful ministries I know. I remember Rev Joseph Toliver inviting him to preach for our Revival here at Zion Chance, Va. and what a wonderful time we had. Our sincere condolences to the family and to Salem Baptist Church. God has done an amazing thing. He called them both so they can celebrate their job that was well done together and forever with him. They will never be alone or forgotten. May God's grace, love, and comfort be upon each of you during this difficult time.
Deacon and Deaconess John and Phyllis Kendall
Sharing in your sorrow with love and friendship......Their impact will never be forgotten. As we mourn their passing, we find comfort in the words of Scripture: And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are the true words of God." (ESV Revelation 19:9). (McDowney) Epps-Johnson Family
