My beautiful beloved friend. Oh how my heart aches right now. You were my best friend, my soul sister, my comrade. I would have never made it through grad school without you. We met at orientation and were inseparable after that. Your encouragement and kind words taught me that there really are good people in this world - you were all of that for me. You saw me through some of the lowest points in my life. I'm glad I got to thank you and let you know how much I love you while you were still here. Rest In Peace, sister, and please watch over me until we get to meet again.

Sending so much love to Nikeeta's family and friends. I will always remember the 2013 year she came to NYC to spend the holidays with me and my family. She was an amazing human and the world is less without her.

Nakeeta was an excellent Millwright apprentice in her 4th year through Millwrights Local 1163. Nakeeta was due to graduate to a journeyman this year. From the moment she showed up to apply to the apprenticeship she was made herself known. She was a hard worker, knocking it out of the box with the apprenticeship as well as in the field. The contractors she worked for appreciated her and the skills she brought to the job site. Her Millwright family is deeply saddened by her passing.
