Danny Merle Smith
Mr. Danny Merle Smith, 62 of Mecklenburg County, Virginia was called to transition on Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1962 to the late Emily Davis Smith and Benjamin Smith and preceded in death by brothers, Prince Edward Smith and Mitchell Smith and his sister Mable Smith.
He was part of the Mecklenburg County Schools System and graduated from Old Dominion Job Core in Lynchburg, Virginia.
He leaves to cherish in his memory one daughter, Latoya Monique Smith and her fiancé, Markey Durham; five grandchildren, which includes three grandsons, Jordan Dermaine Smith, Markey Durham, Jr., Markai Durham; two granddaughters, Mylaila Durham and Malaika Durham all of the home; siblings, Cleo(Eddie) Hargrove, Clarksville, VA, Benjamin(Deborah) Smith, Greenfield, IN, Mary E. Spruill, Boydton, Virginia, Regina(Bryd) of Johnson, Greensboro, NC, Patricia Nettles, Pittsboro, NC, Aretha (George) Jones, Victoria, VA; a host of other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 1:00PM at the Chapel of Carter’s Funeral Home, 206 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, Virginia.
