Donald Ray Roberts known as “Dike” departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in
Clarksville, VA. Donald was born to the late Lisborn D. Roberts and Queen Boxley Roberts on
June 14, 1955, in Buffalo Junction, VA.
Donald was educated in the public schools of Washington, D.C. and graduated from Ballow
High School. He drove transport for Providence Hospital in D.C. for eighteen (18) years and
worked with C.C. Mangum Company in Raleigh, N.C. Donald spent every free moment enjoying
his hobby, fishing. He also taught his nephew, Bobbie Peterson and great-nephew, Shemar
Blakeney his hobby.
Donald joined Wharton Memorial Baptist Church at an early age and was reunited when he
returned to the area.
Donald leaves to cherish his loving and caring memories: his mother, Queen Roberts; siblings,
Brenda Peterson; Larry Roberts (Renee), Deborah Shaw (Jeff), Velky Roberts (Deborah),
Charlene Collins, Maurice Roberts, Sr. (Carolyn); one uncle, James Boxley (Delores); four
aunts, Hilda Lampkins, Anna Wilkerson, Jacie Roberts and Shirley Roberts; sister-in-law,
Leonia Roberts, a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives, friends, and especially his close friends,
Cleveland Hayes, Glenn Roberts, Calvin Gregory and Carl Gregory.
Donald was preceded in death by his wives; Dianne and Linda; his father, L. Dennis Roberts;
brother, William “Benny” Roberts and sister, Clarice A. Roberts.
Visitation for Mr. Donald Ray Roberts will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11:00AM
to 1:00PM at the Wharton Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held on Saturday,
April 20, 2024 at 1:00PM at Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, 57 White House Road, Nelson,
VA, with the Reverend Tereeke’ Hutcheson, Pastor, eulogist.
