FlorRene Eubanks Little gained her crown in the early morning on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at her residence. FlorRene was affectionately known to everyone at “Mother Little.”
“Mother Little” was born in Red Oak, VA to the late Clem Eubanks and Nancy Whitehead Eubanks.
FlorRene received her education in the Charlotte Public Schools System.
She started her Christian Journey at the Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. She attended Amazing Bibleway, Clarksville, VA. While being at Amazing Bibleway, she served on the Mother’s Board, Pastor’s Aided Committee, Kitchen Committee, Usher’s Board and the Hospitality Committee. You could also find “Mother Little” worshipping and serving God at El Bethel Kingdom Church, South Boston, VA. She served on the Mother’s Board and Pastor’s Aide Committee. She made herself available to serve the Lord.
In her very early teenage years while being in Northern, VA, FlorRene would babysit. She then worked at Jonbil Sewing Factory, Chase City, VA for 28 years. Before retiring, FlorRene decided to go and work at Russell Stover’s Candy, Clarksville, VA. It was here she worked for 5 years.
On August 10, 1968, FlorRene gave her hand in Holy Matrimony to Richard Clifton Little. To this union, God blessed them with 3 beautiful daughters that remained living in the Charlotte County area. Joyce, Shelia and Shirley were their parents pride and joy. There was a lot of love between them all.
“Mother Little” loved her family. She was awesome at cooking, sewing, gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved showing her dancing skills to her family.
There was no doubt that FlorRene loved the Lord and her family. She took pride in making sure that her family was taken care of in one of the best ways that she knew. She made sure that her family had home cooked meals daily. Only the Lord was above her husband and family. Anyone that was in her presence was going to reap the benefits of that love. FlorRene’s signature was her unbeatable fried chicken and homemade pies. She truly practiced, “the way to the heart, is through the stomach.”
FlorRene was loved and adored by all of her grandchildren. She was affectionately called, “guma,” “granny,” and “grandma.” She took time with each of them and they would often get that fun-loving side of her to come out. The memories of good meals, laughs, tears, hugs, kisses and sleepovers at grandma’s will never be forgotten.
FlorRene had a loving and giving heart for people, particularly children. She could hum and rock almost anybody’s child to sleep, no matter how fretful they might have been. FlorRene never wanted to see anyone without anything and often sacrificed her last if she could help.
FlorRene taught her daughters how to be strong, independent, virtuous women, great mothers, good wives and faithful friends. FlorRene was a very special lady in her own ways and will forever be missed.
FlorRene was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Nancy Eubanks; her husband, Richard C. Little; brother, Harvey Eubanks; 2 sisters, Ethel Haskins and Louise W. Mosley
She leaves to cherish her memory, 3 daughters, Joyce Little Shearin (Tyrrone), Sheila Little Okpeahior (Precious), Shirley Little Edmonds (Wesley); 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Staten of Red Oak, VA; brother, Joseph Eubanks (Reverend Paula) of Roxoboro, NC; 3 brothers-in-law, Donnie Little of Sherrills Ford, NC, Jerry Little (Louise) of Newton, NC, Renford Little (Johnnie) of Charlotte, NC; a devoted cousin/caregiver, Marlene Thompson; family friend, Sonia Fleet, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, relatives and friends that are too numerous to name.
