Mrs. Mary Leaner Pulliam, wife of the late Reverend Tyrone Pulliam, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at her residence in Chase City, VA. Funeral Service for Mrs. Pulliam are as follows:

Viewing: Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 2pm-4pm

Service: Monday, February 10, 2025 at 11AM. Service will be held at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 4300 Highway 92, Boydton, VA 23917.

Obituary

Mrs. Mary Leaner Lewis Pulliam, widow of the late Reverend Tyrone Pulliam completed her earthly journey on February 5, 2025. She was born on December 21, 1937 to the late Willie Lewis and Lucy Daves Lewis. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
She loved the Lord and was not shy about sharing her testimony. She pressed her way out to the house of the Lord despite failing health and being on dialysis, where she was known as “the candy lady” because she would make up little bags of candy for the staff and patients. When she knew her time was near, she said, “I am not afraid, I will go where the Lord takes me.”
Mrs. Pulliam is survived by two daughters, Lynette LaPread (James) of Chase City, Denise LaPread of Farmville; two brothers, Joe Lewis (Mary) of Chase City and Dorsey Lewis of Boydton; special nephews, George Wardrick and John Geer; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her Mt. Pleasant family.
