Obituary for Robert Lee Alexander
Mr. Robert Lee Alexander, affectionally known as "Reed," was called to transition on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on September 28, 1932, to the late Rose and George Alexander of Skipwith, VA.
He was employed by Huss Inc. for 48 years where he was a truck driver, night watchman and ran a low boy when the trucks would break down. Prior to his health decline, he was passionate about cutting his hedges, fishing, and buying things. He never saw a for sale sign that he did not like.
He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his life-time companion Sarah Toombs and adopted son Alvin Toombs.
He leaves to cherish in his memory one son, Robert "Pooney" Toombs (Mary) of Chase City, VA; one brother Grover Alexander (Christine) of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Tenesha Shelton, Tiffanny Jones, Ronnie Oliver and AJ Toombs; five great-grandchildren Ta'Kaya, Jaziah, Ta'Naya, Micah and Cartier; one great-great grandchild Nova; one niece Celeste Alexander (Butch); a host of other relatives and friends.
