Willie B. Nelson affectionately called “B” entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his residence in Clarksville, Virginia at the age of 73. He was born on September 8, 1949 to the late Silas and Bernice Nelson. He attended school in the Mecklenburg County School System. Willie B was a roofer at heart. After working many years at Gupton Roofing he established his own roofing business “Nelson’s Roofing.” He enjoyed cooking, golfing, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. These were some of his favorite pastimes. Willie B leaves to cherish his daughter, Katina Nelson (Datrione) of Clarksville, JoAnn (Lynn) of Buffalo Junction, Loretta (Calvin) of Boydton, LeeRoy, Ellis, Arthur (Brenda) all of Clarksville, Lois of Henderson, NC and his goddaughter Sabrena. He also leaves to cherish his brothers and sisters, Ray (Dawn), Linwood, Rickey (Mary), Leon (Shirley), Mary, Betty and Bernice, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earnestine Nelson, son, Baby Boy Nelson, daughter, Lorraine, sister, Elizabeth and four brothers, Rosco, Edwards, Silas, Jr. and Doyle.

I really liked Willie's jolly disposition whenever I was in his presence as I saw him at his high points and his low points. Some of his deep conversation on life, I will never forget.
