The Final Trail

The engine roars, the tires spin, A brand-new muddy trail begins. No fences now, no muddy track, No earthly weight upon your back.

You loved the pull of throttle down, Far from the noise of any town, Through timber tall and fields of green, To find the wildest peace unseen.

The dust has settled in the breeze, The sun shines through the autumn trees, And though we miss your smiling face, You’re riding in a higher place.

So open up the throttle wide, On heaven's hills, enjoy the ride. The trails up there are smooth and free— We'll catch up to you by and by.
