The pulpit's quiet, the Bible closed, The faithful shepherd now reposes. No more the weight of wandering sheep, No more the nights of watch and weep.

You walked with us through joy and pain, And pointed us to grace like rain. You showed the way, you held the line, And shared the bread of life divine.

Now silent is the gentle voice That bade the broken heart rejoice. Yet echoed in the lives we live Is all the love you worked to give.

Well done, good servant, true and tried, The gates are wide, the Lord is nigh. Go take your crown, your labor done, Rest in the light of God's own Son.
