Ricky Blair
March 15, 1960 - December 25, 2025
Ricky B. Blair was the fifth of eight children. He was born on March 15, 1960, in West Point, Mississippi to his late parents, Fannie Mae Blair and Henry Lewis Blair. Ricky transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Baldwyn Rehabilitation/ Nursing Home in Baldwyn, Mississippi after an extended illness.
Ricky attended school in the West Point School District and later graduated from Ministerial Institute/M and I High School, a private institution. He excelled academically and deeply valued the friendships and sense of community he experienced during his school years.
Guided by a spirit of service and patriotism, Ricky answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army. Although his time in the military was not long-term, the discipline, pride, and sense of honor he gained remained with him throughout his life.
Ricky enjoyed reading the Holy Bible, listening to music of different genres, singing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He often reminisced about his childhood days in West Point, sharing stories filled with humor, reflection, and gratitude. His warm smile, kind spirit, and lively personality left lasting impressions on everyone who knew him.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, the late Fannie Mae Blair and Henry Lewis Blair; brothers Clifton Sykes, Jr. and Dr. Lewis Blair, Jr; and nephews Clifton “Charles” Sykes III, Rodrick Deon Blair, and Terrain Lamar Sykes.
Ricky leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Eve (Gregory) Houston of Jackson, Mississippi; Lois (Michael) Burton of Humble, Texas; and Dr. Katie Ruth Blair of Columbus, Georgia, two brothers, Billy Wayne Blair and John M. Blair of West Point, Mississippi.Ricky’s nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends feel blessed to have shared his life. Although he is no longer with us physically, the love he gave, the faith he lived, and the quiet strength he carried will continue to live in our hearts. He will always be loved and deeply missed.
