We're sorry to hear about your recent loss. Accept our sincere condolences. The words of Philippians 4:13 can be very soothing in these moments, it says: "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
Your grief and sorrow may be overwhelming during this time. Reflect on Psalm 91:4 and you will be comforted. "With his pinions he will cover you, and under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness will be a large shield and a protective wall."
Deep grief is, in my experience, shimmers with poignant - and sometimes what feels like endless - amounts of pain, but it is in traveling to the depths that there appears to be is a kind of beauty that is found there to be mixed in with the tragedy, and I have found that comforting . I am so sorry for your loss and happy you all had each other . I have no doubt that Elijah is staying close to you even now . Sending love , Maggie
