Funeral services for Ms. Willie Renee Davis-Rue will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at West Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Viewing will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 6:30-7:30pm at Cedric D. Clark Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be in Old West Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Ms. Rue, 70 of Meridian, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at Queen City Nursing Center.
Willie Renee Davis-Rue was born August 6, 1949 to the late Willie O. Davis and Corine Smith-Davis.
She was a graduate of the Harris High School Class of 1968.
Willie Renee accepted Christ at Savannah Grove Baptist Church, but would later join New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she rededicated her life to God.
She was a great mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a dedicated and very hard worker. She worked at East End Head Start, Poplar Springs Nursing Center, United Methodist Church Daycare and After School Care where she later retired.
Willie Renee departed this earthly life on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Queen City Nursing Center in Meridian, MS.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Tina Marie, her father, Willie O. Davis, Sr., and her mother Corine Smith-Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children Kenneth D. Rue of Meridian, MS, Annetta Lynn Rue of Orlando, FL , Orlando (Pookie) Rue of Meridian, MS and Clifton C.K Rue of Meridian, MS; five grandchildren: Terrica Jones, Shatoria Johnson, Kadejhia Walker, Joscelyn Rue and Orlandria Rue; seven sisters: Mary F. Evans, Cecelia Hill, Juanita Davis, Joann Brunson, Nellie (Robbie) Dubose, Marilyn Davis and Betty Knott; bonus sister: Beverly (Willie) Davis-Hopson; five brothers: Willie O. Davis, Jr., (Joann), Guy W. (Vanessa) Davis, Donald (Jewel) Davis, Billie R. (Barbara) Davis and Jessie Davis; special aunt: Bonnie Ellis; special friends: Robert Curry Jr., Mamie McGrew, Mary McGrew, Adell Hurde, Joyce Boyd and Edna Hudson; a special niece who helped care for her until her health failed, the late Sandra (Lou) Davis; seven great grands; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly and will truly miss her.
