Lee Andrew Hart Jr. was born on June 5th 1943 in Memphis, TN to Elizabeth Anne Davis and Lee Andrew Hart Sr. Lee spent his early years in Memphis but was raised in Chicago by his loving Grandmother. He eventually returned to Memphis and attended Manassas High School. After high school, Lee served in the US Army where he learned his skill as an electronics technician. His work on the Hawk radar system while stationed at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico was a particular source of pride. After receiving an honorable discharge Lee returned to Memphis and set out on his journey to become an entrepreneur, opening a bar and grill in the New Chicago area known as "The Elbow Room", while also launching a TV repair service. Lee eventually moved to El Paso, Texas, a decision that would take he and his family on a journey to Texas, New Mexico, and South Carolina. During these years, Lee used his skill as an electronic specialist in support roles for various companies. Ultimately, Lee's passion for entrepreneurialism was rekindled with the formation of Omega Electronics an electronics repair company. Lee operated Omega Electronics until his decision to move his family back home to Memphis where he lived until his passing. Lee was an intellectual with a curious spirit, he enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and great music, especially jazz and loved being surrounded by family and friends. Lee made a positive impact on the lives of many people, whether through the indelible impression he made on his family, his service as a 32nd degree Worshipful Master Freemason, or as a mentor to his nephews and other young men during his life. His presence will be missed by everyone who knew him. Lee passed away on Thursday, September 26th after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Deborah Anne Hart, his sons Barry Neal Cannon, Morris Kenearl Sallie, Kenneth Jerome Hart, Mark Lewis Hart (Tanya), and Franklin Ross Hart. Preceding him in passing, were his sons Andre Askew, Jimme Delane Hart and one daughter Minnetta Jackson, as well as his sister JoAnne Jones. Lee also leaves behind, his brother Arthur Hart (Janie) and two sisters Georgia Caldwell (David), and Taycine McInnis as well as host of grandkids, and loving family members. Lee's final wishes were that his passing would be celebrated privately, without the formality of a traditional funeral service. We will honor his wishes by planning a private informal gathering to celebrate his life. The family deeply appreciates your prayers and support during this time of mourning.
