Obituary For Alphonso Byrd

Alphonso Byrd was born on November 13, 1940, to Mckinley Byrd and Hattie Lou Byrd in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He married Marie Williams on October 25, 2006, in St. Augustine, Florida. He was employed with Taylor Concrete for 24 years, and Florida Rock for six years. He was a Deacon at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church. He loved fishing and spending time with family.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his parents, McKinley and Hattie Lou Byrd, son, Bobby Byrd, brothers, McKinley Byrd Jr., Earnest Garner, sister, Karen Byrd.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Marie Y. Byrd, St. Augustine; sons, Troy (Tiffany) Byrd, Vincent (Veronica) Byrd, both of Green Cove; Shandale Davis, Deniro Davis, Devontae Durden, all of St. Augustine; daughters (Nancy (Alphonso) Byrd, Xyzavier Byrd, both of Green Cove; Cereshia (Jermaine) Hall, Jacksonville; brothers, Curley (Betty) Byrd, Woodbridge, Virginia; Matthew (Norma) Byrd, Durham, North Carolina; sisters, Arnertha (John) Session, Orange Park; Dorothy Brooks, Green Cove; special niece, Tammy Brown, special friends, Jolie and Elijah Whort, all of St. Augustine; 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grand children, 6 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law Julius (Vanessa) Ferguson, St. Augustine; sister-in-law, Mary (Willie) Ayers, W. Palm Beach; special friends, Tabitha Backwood, Brandy Beaudry, Shantel Hatten, and a host of extended family and friends.

The Byrd family will receive friends and the community 5-6:30 p.m., Friday, April 12, at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel, Hastings. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 13, at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church, 1501 Bronson St, Palatka, Florida. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery.
