Arleatha McCaskell lovingly remembered by "Leat," 69 of Bunnell transitioned from this earthly life on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Advent Health in Palm Coast. Up until the end Arleatha maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation, and love of family and friends. Arleatha lived her life to the fullest and had no regrets. Arleatha was born on Thursday, February 9, 1956, in Perry, Florida Taylor County. She attended Taylor County high school in Perry, Florida and graduated from Carver High school in Bunnell, Florida. She worked as a housekeeper in Ormond Beach and Bunnell Hospitals.
She was met with heavenly open arms by the love of her life for 39 years Johnny McCaskell; her parents Charles Grant and Geneva Bines Grant, and her brother Charles Grant.
She leaves behind her devoted son Alfred Deon Laster and stepson Johnny McCaskell, her grandchildren Darius Fulwood, September Laster, Tyre'Yunna McClendon, Deon Laster Sr., and Devon
Laster. Her great-grandchildren who light up her world: Autumn, Amerie Jaye, and Deon Laster Jr. Brothers Calvin (Maxine) Grant, and David (Gloria) Grant; Sisters Diann McClain, and Bonita (Joseph) Robinson. Sisters-in-law Priscilla McCaskell, Gloria McCaskell-Wilson, Debra (Terrance) Steward, Aretha (Zachary) Reddin and a host of, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 609 S. State Street Bunnell, Florida, P.A. Wilkerson, Pastor
A public viewing will be held one hour prior to service

I have to many to just claim one. My Sista, Friend and Cuz is one of the greatest people I've every met and God truly blessed me with her and my Cuz Jr. Her spirit for life and love of people and family I'll admire for the rest of my life. We love her so dearly and she will truly be missed. Love you all and may God be with you during this time with Peace and his Strength see us through.
