Obituary For Carlton Dale Smith Sr.

Carlton Dale Smith, Sr. was born on August 31, 1957 to Tommie Lee Dunham and Marion Smith in Palatka, Florida. Subsequently, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He and Pauline Smith later entered their promise in marriage. Carlton was a food enthusiast, taking pleasure in cooking and preparing meals. He loved and adored his family. In addition to his wife and parents, Carlton was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jimmie Lee Wilson; sisters, Denise Howard and Zerrola Dunham; brother, Michael Dunham. Carlton leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Carlton (Mildred) Smith Jr. and Darryl Smith both of Palatka, FL; daughters, Tabitha Smith of Palatka, FL and Toccara (Tim) Hawkins of Gainesville, FL; brothers, Lyndon Dunham and Tony Dunham both of Green Cove Springs, FL; sisters, Patricia Dunham and Shirley Dunham both of Green Cove Springs, FL; step children, Nicole (Alton) Parker of Palatka, FL, Kesha Townsend and Tarsha Torrance both of Gainesville, FL, Carmen (Alvin) Thompson of Satsuma, FL and Travis Gibbs of Palatka, Florida; special nephews, Obidiah (Veronica) McCaskill of Green Cove Springs, FL, Antonio Howard of St. Charles, MO, and Travis (Montoya) Howard of Palm Coast, FL; special nieces, Tiffany (Willie) Nelson and Angie (Perry) Robbins both of Palatka, FL; special friend, Darlene Williams of Green Cove Springs, FL; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended relatives and sorrowing friends.

The wake service will be held 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Passionate First Born Church – 1708 Madison St. Palatka, FL 32177 – Elder James Mathews, Pastor.

Funeral services for Carlton Dale Smith Sr. will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Passionate First Born Church 1708 Madison St. Palatka, FL 32177. Interment will follow in Pattersonville Cemetery.
