Cecil Anderson Sr., was born April 18, 1946, in Pomona Park, Florida to Perman and Georgia Anderson. He later moved to Hastings in April of 1955, where he attended Carter School and Walter E. Harris High School. He was an avid football player in high school, and a graduate in the class of 1964. After high school Cecil was employed by Smith Farms until retirement on October 3, 2018. He loved working on the farm and loved his farm family. Cecil’s favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and watching football (Gators). He loved spending time with his family and friends. Cecil was also a Boy Scout Leader in the early 80’s. Cecil attended Mount Olive Baptist Church in (Silverhill) Hastings, Florida. He enjoyed fellowship with his Pastor, Otis Lynch and fellow congregation. He attended faithfully until he could no longer.
Cecil was preceded in eternal rest by parents, Perman and Georgia Anderson, daughters, Celena Anderson, Angela Andrews, son, Herbert Bryant, sister, Johnnie Mae Anderson, brothers, Wiley Anderson, Horace Anderson, Sr., Howard P. Anderson, Claude Anderson, Lester Anderson
Cecil peacefully entered into the sunset of life on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the age of 78.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Geneva Johnson-Anderson, daughters, Cecilia Simon, LaQuinta Anderson, Tyneshia Anderson, daughter-in-law, Stephanie Bryant, sons, Reginald Johnson, Sr., Cecil Anderson Jr., Sheddrick Anderson (Achisa) Ryan Anderson, Sr., (She’Kira), grandchildren, Tiffany McRae, Jessica Williams (Mar’trey) Kadaja Green, Jerome Simon (Karla), David Green (Nora), Ryan Anderson Jr., Rylan (Ace) Anderson, Reginald Jr., Terrance, Darius Vincent, Adrian Johnson, Rodrick Bryant, Kendrick Bryant, and 12 great-grandchildren, sisters, Lucille Wesley, Audrey Woods (Tommie Lee), devoted sister, Marvis Jones, Dorothy Oliver, Ruby Mays (Joseph), Bonnie Terry, brother Paul Anderson (Gloria), special friends, Francis Moore, Ben and Robin Singleton, god-sister, Louise Douglas, devoted friend, George Alexander (Lesa) like a brother, Wesley Smith, devoted class of 1964 (Walter E. Harris High), and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The Anderson family will receive friends and the community 6-7 p.m., Friday, April 26, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 8250 CR 13, Hastings. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, @ The W.E. Harris Community Center, 400 Harris St, Hastings. Interment will be held in Oak Hill West.
