Celena Anderson was born February 1, 1970, in Palatka Florida to Cecil Anderson, Sr. and Geneva Anderson. She began her education in Palatka then later moved to Hastings where she attended Hastings Elementary School.
During her years in high school, she worked at Waffle House and enjoyed her time there. She graduated from St Augustine High school class of 1990. She later attended St. Augustine Technical Center studying nursing assistant and eventually becoming a loving and compassionate caregiver at Swaunee River. She was a member of Church of God by Faith in East Palatka, Florida where she attended church faithfully with her grandmother.
She is preceded in eternal rest by her maternal grandparents (Josephine Andrews and Henry Johnson) and her paternal grandparents (Perman and Georgia Anderson). In addition to her grandparents, her sister, Angela Andrews and brother, Herbert Bryant, Uncle Douglas Johnson, Sr.
Celena peacefully entered into the sunset of life on Saturday September 16, 2023, at the age of 53. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, David (Nora) Green, Daughter Kadaja Green, two grandsons, A'Day Lucas, Cairo Green, twin brother Cecil Anderson Jr., brothers, Reginald Johnson, Sr., Shedrick (Achisa) Anderson, Ryan (She'Kira) Anderson, sisters Cecilia Simon, LaQuinta Anderson, Tyneisha Anderson, sisters in law, Stephanie Bryant, Tricia Grazatt, aunts and uncles, Annie Mae (Roy) Deering, Marvin (Myrtis) Johnson, Carl Johnson, Marvis Jones, Dorothy Oliver, Lucille Wesley, Audrey (Tommie Lee) Woods, Paul (Gloria) Anderson, nieces and nephews, Tiffany McRae (Alaina), Jessica (Mar'Trey) Williams, Jerome Simon, Reginald Johnson Jr., Darius Johnson, Terrance Johnson, Adrian Johnson, Vincent Johnson, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, special friends: Kim Myles, Domita Nelson, Pam Tucker, Kim Johnson-Edwards, Carolyn Pinkney, LaKisha Hughes, Charles Lawton, Tracy Eubanks, Jerri Robinson, special cousins, Shakira Crawford, Rosaline Woods, Marlene Crawford Walker, Special work friends, Theresa Michael, and Susan Crews
The Anderson family will receive friends and the community 6-7 p.m., Friday, September 22, at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, September 23, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 100 5th St. East Palatka. Interment will be held in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
