Mother Claudia Brinson Johnson,77, of Palatka, FL is the daughter of Dan and Annie (Bartley) Brinson, II. She was a devoted wife to Deacon Eugene Johnson, Sr. Claudia was a faithful mother at First Born Church of the Living God, Inc. under the leadership of the late Bishop W.L. Smith, Sr. She subsequently became the mother of the church that is now known as The Passionate First-Born Church under the leadership of Pastor James Mathews. Claudia served in the choir and on the usher board. Mother Claudia loved serving the Lord and reading her Bible while preparing for Sunday School lessons. She was devoted to her church and her church family. Claudia enjoyed her soap operas and believed in taking anyone in as her family while caring for others. Mother Claudia enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in enteral rest by her husband, Eugene Johnson, Sr. Sons: Dannie Williams and Craig Johnson, Like a son: Inneisheo ‘Mike’ Brinson. Siblings: Linda Mack, Sharon Harrell, Sylvester Brinson, Sr., Catherine Daniels, Larry Brinson, Sr., Francis Vernon, Lamar Brinson, Louise Brinson-Campbell, and Betty Coley. Grandson: Marcus Johnson. Daughter-In-Law Tangela Brantley Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Sons and Daughters: Eugene Johnson, Jr., Trena Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Sr., Keith Johnson, Sr., Felecia McCormick, Tangela Johnson, Victor (Teresa) Johnson, Lakesha (Tommy) Curry, Charlotte (James) Mathews, Sr., Vontrece (Eddie) Brown; Like Sons & Daughters, Johnny (Stephanie) Daniels, Shemica (Rodrick) Greene, Dennis Shorter, Anthony Hill; Sisters, Anna (Lynwood) Alridge, Beverly (Sherman) Canty; Brothers, Dan (Angela) Brinson III, Joseph (Barbara) Brinson, and Timothy Brinson, Sr.; family friend, Angela Alessi; 37 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, Special niece Sheila Williams, Godchildren, other loving relatives, and caring friends.
The family will receive friends and the community from 6-7 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 at Passionate First Born Church, 1708 Madison St, Palatka. A Celebration of Life: 2 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Passionate First Born Church, Pastor James Matthews will deliver the eulogy. Interment: Oak Hill West
