David Lee Wesley, son of the late Oscar and Ollie Mae Wesley was born December 17, 1945, in Palatka, FL. He quietly departed this life on March 11, 2026.
David graduated from Walter E. Harris High School in 1963, where he was an honor student as well as a talented athlete. He proudly played quarterback for the Panthers under the leadership of Coach Hinson.
David began his working career as a farm contractor, a job that reflected his strong work ethic from an early age. He later worked at Desco Marine, where he helped build boats and gained valuable work experience. In time, he returned to his true passion, farm work where he spent many years working diligently until his retirement.
David had a heart of gold and was known for his generosity and kindness. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would give his last to anyone in need. His selfless spirit and caring nature touched many lives, and he will always be remembered for the love and compassion he showed to others.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; John Lee Wesley, Oscar Wesley Jr., Roy Frankie Lee Wesley, Tony Jerome Wesley, and Edward Wesley. His sisters; Louise Myers and Elouise Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters; Sharlene Roberts, Palatka, FL and Davia (Dawuud) Wesley-Abdulansir, Tampa, FL. Bonus daughters; Beatrice (Anthony) Fuller, Utica, NY, Geraldine Davis, Elizabeth City, NC, Barbara (Daryl) Brown, Jacksonville, FL, Tommie (Raymond) Lewis, St. Augustine, FL, and Sharon (Johnny) Davis, Daytona, FL.
His sons; Frank J. (Hannah) Wesley, Palatka, FL, Jerome Wesley, Arcadia, FL, Anthony Leon Wesley, Atlanta, GA, Wayne (Tanisha) Wesley, Palatka, FL and Jermaine (Patricia) Wesley, Elkton, FL, Bonus sons; Michael Session, St. Augustine, FL and Shannon Davis, Elkton, FL.
His brother; Calvin Wesley (Ruby) of Riverhead, NY, sisters; Mary Thornton, Hastings, FL, and Cathy Outler (Ed) Atlanta, GA. Sister in laws; Lucille Wesley, Hastings, FL, Gail Wesley, Coram, NY, Eleanor Wesley, Jacksonville, FL and Ardrene Wesley, Hastings, FL, along with a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation 5-6:30 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026, at The Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel, 139 N. Main St, Hastings, Florida
A Celebration of Life 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, First Baptist Church Armstrong, 6370 Armstrong Road Elkton, Florida
Interment will be held in Armstrong Cemetery
