Obituary For Edith Marie Adams Johnson

Edith Marie Johnson was born on April 4, 1948, in Palatka, Florida, to the late Oscar Adams and Ruby Adams. She received her education through the Flagler County School System.
Edith was a dedicated worker who was formerly employed as a cook at Bunnell General Hospital. She also worked for the County Road and Bridge Department and the Flagler County Schools. Throughout her working years, she served her community and built a life centered on family, faith, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Edith was a faithful member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Bunnell, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and found great pleasure in caring for her yard, tending to her flowers, and nurturing her plants. These simple joys were among the things that made her life special.
Edith was preceded in eternal rest by her beloved parents, Oscar and Ruby Adams; her brothers, Sonny Boy Oats, Cleveland Adams, Marion Adams, Isaiah Adams, Robert Adams, and Oscar Adams, Jr.; her sisters, Lillian Adams, Jessie Mae Adams, Hattie Adams, and Estell Adams; her grandson, Darius Giddens; and her granddaughter, A’jene Royal.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughters, Lewanna Johnson (Arthur) and Harriett Johnson (Ernest), of Palm Coast, Florida; Angela Johnson, Mary Galvin, and Tina Moore, of Daytona Beach, Florida; and Yvonne Oliver, of St. Petersburg, Florida.
She is also survived by her sisters, Annie Bell London, of Bunnell, Florida; Barbara Flint, of Delray Beach, Florida; Evelyn Scarborough, of Daytona Beach, Florida; and Evelyn Adams, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Edith's loving family also includes her goddaughter, Retta Draugelat, of Tampa, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She will also be fondly remembered by her special friend, Freida Jones, of Daytona Beach, Florida, along with all who were blessed to know and love her.
Edith's life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, hard work, and finding joy in life's everyday blessings. Though she will be deeply missed, the precious memories she leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
