Elder Donald Coleman, the son of the late Franklin Coleman and Betty Jean Walds, was born on May 23, 1950, Palaka, FL. He attended Campbell High. He worked as a janitorial custodian, food services worker, city of Daytona Beach Utility department, and waste management. He retired from Volusia County School Board in 2003 from Mainland High School. Donald met the love of his life Elsie and was joined in marriage on March 5, 2005. He attended Madison Heights C.O.G.I.C in Daytona Beach, FL, while later joining Deliverance Temple C.O.G.I.C and later joined Holy Temple and has been a faithful member for over 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, basketball, football, attending church and church festivities. He was preceded in death by his daughter Candice Michele Coleman, sister Gloria Todd; brother Earl Kelly. Donald leaves to cherish his memories, his lovely wife Elsie. Daughters; Twyinette Coleman, Chekina Coleman, Canndis Christian (Neville), NaKeithra Dean( Demond), Shakendra Coleman. His sons; Donald Coleman, Traevis Coleman. Sisters: Yvonne Rodgers, Patricia Hines-Washington (Calvin), Janice (Thomas) Griffin. Brothers: Laundsay (Janie) Williams, Edward Hines. Stepchildren: Williams Giddens, Tamika (Ronald) Ford, Tamesha and Tanisha White. Mother-in-Law: Dona Lumpkin. Sister-in-Law: Lottie Mobley. Aunt: Ella Fields. 19 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends and the community 5-6 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Holy Temple COGIC in Bunnell. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17, at Holy Temple COGIC. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Daytona Beach.
