Emma Mae Johnson, 61, of Jacksonville was born on Wednesday, August 17, 1960 to Henry & Amelia Johnson in Hastings. She received her education in the St. Johns County School District where she subsequently graduated with the class of 1978. Emma was a member of Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Hastings. She was a domestic worker most of her life and had a trade as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Emma enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in eternal rest by her grandparents, Alonzo & Hannah Bibbins; Paternal Grandmother, Malties Harris and sister, Annie B. Jones.
She leaves to cherish her many memories: son, James Johnson; sisters, Linda Johnson, Janet Mattox; brothers, Henry Jones, Joseph Johnson; grandchildren, Ja’Mes Johnson, Destinee Johnson, James Johnson II; great grandson, Messiah Woods; aunts, Ronnie (James) Robinson, Stella Simmons; special friend, Nathaniel Davenport; and a host of extended family and sorrowing friends.
The Johnson Family will receive extended family & friends from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at The Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel in Hastings. The Homegoing Celebration will be 2:00p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at The Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel. Emma final resting place will be in Pattersonville Cemetery, East Palatka.
