Esten L. Hubbert, was also known as “Pete” was born on October 6,1959 in Ormond Beach, Florida to the late Esten Hubbert, Sr and Joyce Phabian Macks. He was the oldest of three children.
On Monday, April 20th “Pete” peacefully answered the Master’s Call at Flagler Pines Health and Rehab Center in Bunnell.
At an early age “Pete” was baptized at St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. M.D. Britton.
“Pete” was educated in the Flagler County School System. He graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School in 1977. He was a member of the Bulldog Marching Band. He also attended DBCC in Daytona.
Esten worked for the State of Florida. He also was a custodian for the City of Bunnell. Esten retired from HOMAC in Ormond Beach.
“Pete’s” pleasures in life included traveling, shopping, reading, computers and keeping to himself. He loved his family but preferred a private life. His ultimate goal as an adult was taking care of his brother Dwight.
He is preceded in death by his parents Esten and Joyce. His younger brother James Mack, Sr. His paternal grandmother Charlie Mae Hubbert and grandfather AC Hubbert. Aunts: Ruthie Reeves, Thelma Hubbert and Willie Mae Hubbert, Uncles: Leroy Hubbert, Elmer Hubbert and Alvin Hubbert.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Loving brother, Dwight N (Sonia) Hubbert, Sr; Nephews, Dwight (Kandace) Hubbert, Antonio and Darryl Hubbert all of Gainesville. Great-nieces, Eden and Tamaria, Great-nephews, Ian, Ivan, Ethan, Cash, Darryl Jr., Antonio Jr., Cyhir and Tylan; a host of sorrowing friends (including Evelyn Cooper, Betty Bridges, Maxine Grant and Michael Jones) cousins (including Debra Wright and Dorothy Hall) and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2026, New Beginnings Gospel Church
608 E. Moody Blvd Bunnell, Florida
A public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
Interment will be held in Masonic Cemetery
