Obituary For Freddie Spaulding

Freddie Spaulding Jr., 57, of Jacksonville, Florida, transitioned on August 13th, 2026. Freddie was a hard worker through and through, spending his career as the owner of his own food truck and semi-truck. He poured that same heart into everything he did — on the road, serving his community, or fixing whatever needed to be fixed. He was also the life of the party, always bringing energy and laughter into any room, and loved playing basketball with the kids in his life. He absolutely loved fishing! And no matter the hour, you could count on Freddie having a hot cup of black coffee in his hand — all day, every day. More than anything, Freddie was a devoted father. His children, Grace, Ethan, and Isaac, were his pride and joy, and his love for them showed in everything he did.

Among Freddie's greatest blessings was his fiancée, Joy Simmons — the love of his life, who brought light, laughter, and steady love into his world. He also shared an especially close bond with his sisters: Janet and her husband Jerry who were truly his best friends, and his love for Pauline ran just as deep, while that sibling closeness never wavered.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Annie bell Spaulding; his siblings, Gwendolyn Spaulding, Michael Spaulding, and Martha Davis; and his daughter, Erica Jones.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his surviving siblings, Janet (Jerry) Porter and Pauline Jones; his fiancée, Joy Simmons (brothers: Charles Simmons Jr, Rodney (Jaime) Simmons, Brian Simmons); his children, Grace Spaulding, Ethan Owens, and Isaac Whigham; his grandchildren, Nytaisha Brown, Tyaisha Brown, Leonitus Williams and Raven Williams; and 16 loving nieces and nephews who will forever remember their Uncle Freddie's warmth, humor, and generous heart.

The Celebration of Freddie’s legacy will be 1:00p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the W.E.Harris Cafeteria. There will be a private burial on Monday, August 24, 2026.
