George Lewis “Tin hard” 72 of Jacksonville, Florida, native of Hastings, Florida transitioned on September 9, 2020 at his residence in Jacksonville. Mr. Lewis was born February 22, 1948 to Samuel and Lillian (Pollard) Lewis. Mr. Lewis graduated from Walter E. Harris High School, and later attended Edward Waters College. Mr. Lewis would go on to retire from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service.
He leaves to celebrate his life: Daughter, Laronda (Kevin) King, his grandson, Kevin King, Jr. all of Palatka, FL, his sister, Beverly Shurelds of Jacksonville, Fl.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Coleman’s Mortuary Chapel, with the viewing held on Friday, September 18th from 7pm – 8:30. Pastor Christopher T. Coleman of Harvest Time Ministries will be the Eulogist. Burial will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
