Gloria Ellis Charles-Allen was born on January 26, 1936, to Luther and Lillian Ellis. Gloria attended local schools in Duval and Florence Counties. She received her CNA Certificate in Florence County. Gloria was employed with Dr. Allen and worked for Faith Nursing Home for many years. She married the late Wilson Allen in 1996. Gloria was a devoted member of Excel Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Richard Council of Naples, Florida. Gloria was affectionately called “Mother of the Church”. She was an active member on numerous boards and committees which included the Usher Board, Choir, and Hospitality. She would also prepare dinner on Sundays for the Pastor, First Lady, family and friends. Gloria truly enjoyed cooking and baking. Every year at Christmas she would bake cakes and send them to family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her children, Anthony Francis, George Creek, Ricky Francis, siblings, Luther Ellis Jr., Eddie L. Ellis, Lucinda Hicks, Eva Lee Jackson, George Ellis, Willie Charles, and Elbert Frances
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, James Ellis (Michelle), Rudolph Francis (Crystal), Renee Francis Simon, Evangeline Francis Severe, Robbie Charles (Teresa), stepchildren, Elizabeth Allen, Lisa Allen, Mike Allen, Earl Allen, also cherishing her memories, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends
