Gracie Lee Ward Dennis, the daughter of the late Frances Cobb Ward and Daniel Ward, Sr. was born on May 29, 1927, in St. Augustine, Florida. Gracie was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and she was educated in the St. Johns County School District. Gracie worked for many years as a domestic engineer. She worked for several employers such as the former Tax Collector, Winifred Hill, Jimmie Hartley, and Bella Luke. Gracie began her Christian journey at Shiloh Baptist Church, serving dutifully as an usher on Board Number One. She later joined New Mt. Moriah Christian Ministry. Gracie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and gardening. Her jokester personality will be fondly remembered by family and friends. Gracie ran well, living a life filled with strength, joy, and love of God. She was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Thomas James Raines and Daniel Ward Jr., sisters, Bernice Ward Parker, Viola Ward, and Delores Ward Williams She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Catherine McCloud and Mary Ann McCloud-Scott, sisters, Margaret Ann Ward and Barber Forbes, brother, Johnnie Lee Ward, grandchild, Damon McCloud, great grandchildren, LaTraya Nimmons, Loretta Watkins, Damon Badie, Toriano Watson, a beloved great granddaughter, Janna McSwain, a special great grandson, Errol Lucas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and dear friends. Her humorous spirit will be truly missed. Public viewing 12 p.m., Saturday April 8, at New Mt. Moriah Christian Ministry. The Celebration of Life will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be held in Craig Memorial Gardens
