Grenda Ann Bryson Hall was born on August 21, 1964, to Willie and Lillian N. Bryson. The youngest of seven children, she was affectionately known as “Baby.” As the years went by, that tender nickname evolved into “Ma”, a title lovingly given by many both near and far whose lives she touched with her care, wisdom, and nurturing spirit.
Grenda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lillian N. Bryson; her beloved son, Alphonso L. Bryson (“Roscoe”); her brothers, Willie Bryson and Timmie Bryson; her sister, Diana Bryson Halyard (Morris); and her sister-in-law, Alexzene Bryson.
She leaves to admire her commemoration, her daughters, Brittney (Christopher) Stanley and Lateefah Green; her honorary daughter, Athelia (Tavis) Mitchell; her cherished grandchildren, whom she loved wholeheartedly: Ariana, Jawaun, Dequan, Christopher, Makhiya, Alaia, Curtis, and Omarion; and her honorary grandchildren, Ke’Aja, Taliah, and Taniya.
She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Bryson and Jawaun Bryson; her sisters, Lillian M. Bryson, Mary Bryson Cobb (Earnest), Ann Beckham; and her honorary brother, Arthur Bryson. Her loving aunts include Edna (Eugene) Murray, Odessa Bryson, Theatheia Bryson, Ruby Davis, Tommie Jane (Raymond) Lewis, Betty Newsome, and Barbara (Darryl) Newsome; her uncle, Willie Fields (Carolyn).
She will also be remembered fondly by her special friends: Donna Curley, Inez Wright, and Kellani Odom; her godbrothers, Pastor Mike Session and Pastor Christopher Coleman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
