Brother Lewis Howard Perry (Coot) was born in Jackson County, Florida on January 11, 1946, to the late Charlie Perry and Minnie Merl (Williams) Perry. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age.
Brother Lewis (Coot) was a very wise man that had a beautiful spirit and routinely put his family and friends' needs before his own. He managed to bring happiness and joy into their lives and the community by making them laugh and always exhibiting compassion and empathy. In his younger life, there was no good deed too large or too small for him to complete. He loved his children, family, and friends. He really adored watching wrestling, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was an avid fisherman. To know him as to LOVE him.
God looked down on him early Wednesday morning, November 5, 2025, and decided that it was time for Lewis (Coot) to come home and join him in heaven. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
Brother Lewis Perry (Coot) was preceded in death by his father Charlie Perry, his mother Minnie Merl Perry, his brothers Clarence Perry (Bubba), Charlie Perry Jr., Anthony Perry, George Perry, Edwin Perry, Darren Perry, and Louis Perry, his sisters Diane Perry, Willie Joyce Perry, and Charlene Perry.
Brother Lewis (Coot) leaves a legacy of love and treasured memories to his children: Jimmy Highsmith (Jamie), Diane Brunson, Louis Perry, Edward Perry (Sandra), Darren Perry (Carrie), Shawn Perry (Regina), Anthony Shivers, and Treasa Perry. His sisters Sandora Bennett and Annie Francis Perry. He is also survived by the mother of his children Georgia Mae Shivers; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and caring people.
