Melvin John Steward, Sr., 65, of Hastings, FL was born on November 26, 1955 to Elijah “Moochie” Steward, Sr. and Dollise Garris Steward in Hastings, FL. He was employed by Local 1 Union-Craftman Printer in New York, NY. He was a former member of the Army National Guard, and a member of Hastings Quarterback Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Elijah Steward, Sr., mother, Dollis G. Steward, brothers, Dwight Steward and Elijah Steward, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Melvin Steward, Jr., Jamie Steward, daughters, Latisha (Carlos) Jackson, Malisha Steward, brothers, Roscoe (Veronica) Steward, James Richard (Alice) Steward, Phyence (Lucretia) Steward, sisters, Evelyn Vazquez, Darlene Williams; a host of nieces, nephews and friends, special aunt, Gertrude Steward, special friend, Charles Harris, special mention to the Melvin’s “Monday Club.
The Steward Family will receive friends and the community on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Coleman’s Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service will be on Saturday, December 19, 2020 @ 2pm Oak Hill East Cemetery, Palatka, FL.
