Virginia Cullar Andrews was born on August 21, 1932, to the late Mr. John and Mrs. Lucy Ann Cullar and was the widow of the late Dea. Tommie L. Andrews, Sr. She was the eldest of five children.
Virginia was an active member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Sidney Hardy, Sr., Pastor. She was the Director of Christian Education. She was active in the St. Johns River Missionary Baptist Association Union #1 and was the Assistant Dean of the Congress of Christian Education. She was also a member of the Community Action Center, an Authorized Red Cross Provider, Past President of the St. Johns Retired Educators Association, and a member of the Community Hospice Board of Directors. Virginia was a retired Nursing Educator and Nursing Home Administrator.
She graduated from Excelsior High School, a graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in Applied Science and Health Care Management with a minor in business and was a graduate of the Evangelical Training Institute of Wheaton, Illinois.
Virginia loved teaching, helping people, reading the Bible, playing scrabble, and eating fried chicken. She spent a lot of time counseling people and helping them to further their education. Most of all, she loved the Lord, her family, her church, and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her sister, Jean Gaddis; and sons, Joseph Andrews and Curtis Andrews.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Clarice Jackson; sisters, Henrietta Jackson and Audrey Willis; brother, Elder Jewius (Sheria) Cullar; special aunt, Nevonia King; and grandchildren, Joseph Holt, Wesley Andrews, Wyrette Andrews-Williams, Wanda Andrews, Walter Andrews, Jr., Jameshelena Jackson, Dionysus Jackson, Eliteschia Jackson, and Patrick Andrews; a host of nieces and nephews.

Virginia Andrews came to us as an instructor for the staff of Putnam Caregivers. She had a special way of relating to everyone that made you feel AND know that she always had your best interest at heart. We are saddened by her loss and just wanted to let her family know how much she was appreciated.
