Raythel Goldsmith-Harvey was born on September 15, 1959, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to Alphonso and Ada Goldsmith-Harvey. He was educated in the public school system and later earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Raythel had a deep love for music and spent much of his time playing the guitar and keyboard. Today, we celebrate his life and legacy.
He is survived by his mother, Ada Goldsmith-Harvey, companion, Delores Williams; his son, Demaris McIntosh; his sisters, Adrieane Harvey and Dr. Koran Kaniofu; his brother, Alphonso Harvey Jr.; his uncles, Aaron Goldsmith (Rosemary), Nathaniel Williams (Vera), Larry Williams, Fred Williams, and Melvin Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

My deepest condolences to Ray's family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Ray at Discovery in Silver Spring. Everyone loved Ray. He was always kind and upbeat. May his memory bring you comfort.
