Rose McRae was born on August 17, 1954, to Mr. John Henry Allen and Mrs. Beulah Mae Allen in Port St. Joe, Florida. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, CNA, and homemaker. On August 7, 2025, as she would lovingly say, “her number was called,” and she was called home to be with the Lord.
Rose had a passion for life and enjoyed cooking, fishing, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. Above all, she loved to share her faith and speak about her Lord and Savior. Her life was a beautiful example of love, strength, and faith, and her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Joseph McRae, and siblings, Johnnie Mae Griffin and Pernell Allen.
Rose leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Stacey McCrae of Tampa, FL; Denise Roberson (Rodney) of Palm Coast, FL; Shanice Gillins and Regina Gillins, both of Daytona Beach, FL; sons, Demus Allen (Christy) of Mascotte, FL; John Allen (Ashley) and Jamara Gillins, both of Daytona Beach, FL; sister, Judy Gillins of Daytona Beach, FL; brothers, Rev. David Allen, Sr. (Donna) of Swainsboro, GA, and John Allen of Coral Springs, FL; grandson, Corey McCaster of Tampa, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will deeply miss her.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, August 23, at St. Paul MB Church in Espanola with a public viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held in Masonic Cemetery
