Roxie Thomas, 63, of Palatka, Florida was born on Thursday, August 30, 1956 in Palatka, Florida to Murray Holloman and Lorene Sapp. She received her education in the Putnam County School District and subsequently graduated from Central High School. Roxie enjoyed taking care of anyone that asked for assistance and made herself readily available to her family. Her childhood friends where Co-Pastor Melodie Badie, and Minister Alice Hodges. She was a faithful member and church mother at Noah’s Ark Revival Center in Palatka, Florida under the tutelage of Bishop Henry Calloway. On Thursday, June 4, 2020, Mother Roxie transitioned from this life to her eternal life at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Henry Thomas, Jr.; sister, Betty Cummings.
She leaves to cherish her many memories: son, Lee (Darlene) Precious Jones, Sr.; sister, Dorthy Griswell; brother, Pastor Jimmie Session; cousin, Evangelist Willie Mae Hunt; special friend, Mother Sally Thomas; grandchildren, Lee Precious Jones, Jr., Roxie Ayers, Aaliyah Jones, Lula Jones, Tyrone Jones, Darlene Jones, La’Darius Mack, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
The family will receive friends and community at 6:00p.m. – 7:30p.m. Friday, June 12, 2020 in Coleman’s Mortuary Family Chapel. The Homegoing Celebration will be 2:30p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Clarence Williams, Pastor. Her pastor, Bishop Henry Calloway will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, San Mateo, FL.
