Samuel Lee Mays, 46, a native of Palatka, FL, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was son of Samuel and Betty Lou (Perkins) Mays, born on Saturday, March, 30, 1974. Sam, to which he was called by family and friends, grew up in the church ministry of Grace and Truth Deliverance Ministries, Inc. under the leadership and guidance of Apostle Cora B. Fells, where his mother faithfully took him along with his siblings. Sam displayed his vocal talent by singing in the church youth choir and participating in the church youth department. He was educated in the Putnam County School District. As Sam grew older, he took on the role of a handy man. His hobbies including watching football, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in eternal rest by his loving maternal grandparents Jack and Everlena Perkins; loving paternal grandparents Charlie Mays and Allie Austin. He leaves to cherish his memories: father, Samuel Mays, Sr. of Palatka, FL; daughter, Asia Mays of Palatka, FL; sisters, Lorrine (Alix) Session, Sr. of Palatka, FL, and Carol Hollings of Palatka, FL; brothers, Jeffery (LaShay) Perkins of Lakeland, FL and Michael Mays of Palatka, FL; godparent, Bishop Elijah Jackson of Palatka, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends. The Mays family will receive friends and community from 6:00 – 7p.m., on Friday, February 26th at Coleman’s Mortuary Chapel. A celebration of life will be held graveside at 3:30p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Oak Hill West Cemetery, 712 S. Palm Ave., Palatka. Apostle Cora B. Fells, Grace and Truth Deliverance Ministries, Inc., is the Eulogist.
