Shaquilya Tatyana Howell Affectionately known at “Shaq” or “Tata” was born Tuesday, September 8, 1992, to Franshewn Howell and Brian Bradshaw (stepfather) and Rhodney Williams in Palatka, Florida. Growing up, Shaq loved to dance and shop. But her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandparents, Willie and Elizabeth Mitchell and her Great grandparents, Dec. Swinner and Helen Johns.
Shaquilya attended Putnam County schools and graduated from Palatka high school in 2012. Upon completing high school, she decided to further her education by moving to Homestead, Florida to attend Job Corp. Shaq received her certification as a CNA in 2015.
After graduation, Shaquilya decided to return to her hometown to the delight of her family. Even though she wasn’t able to work due to her disability, Shaq was always willing to help where she could. Shaquilya accomplished many things in life, but her proudest accomplishment was when she became the mother of Ta’Niyah Whestone on October 2, 2018.
Shaq enjoyed hanging with her friends, shopping with her mom and having a nice meal. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her family especially her sisters.
On April 5, 2024, Shaquilya transitioned from this Earth to be with The Lord. Although we are saddened by her passing, we Know that we will meet again someday.
Shaquilya was proceeded in death Dec. Swinner Johns, Martha Mitchell. James Mitchell, Jim Manley, and Stacey Manley.
To cherish her memories, she leaves behind her daughter -Ta’Niayah Whestone; Devoted Mother and stepfather- Franshewn and Brian Bradshaw; Father- Rodney Williams,
Sisters – Tah’yana King, Tah’Quilya Bradshaw; Brother – Rodney Williams Jr.; Grandparents Willie and Elizabeth Mitchell; Jerdene Manley; Aunt – Kawanda Mitchell; Great Grand Parents – Helen Johns, niece – Na’Ryiah Bradshaw; Godparents – Yvette Jones, Robin Johnson, Carl & Ethel Ellis and host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The Howell family will receive friends and the community 6-7 p.m., Friday, April 12, @ New Mt. Zion Church, Palatka. A Celebration of Life will be held 12:30 p.m. @ Passionate First Born Church Inc. Interment will be held in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
