Shirley Renee McKay, affectionately known to family and friends as Renee McKay, was born on May 29, 1965, to Emma Lee Paradise and the late Kenneth McKay Sr. She was lovingly raised with the guidance and support of her stepfather, the late Ralph Paradise. Renee was a proud graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. Upon graduating, she spent many years working in hospitality with Wendy’s and Hess.
Renee lived a life defined by compassion, kindness, and selfless service. She dedicated countless hours to serving others through community outreach programs and volunteer initiatives, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to making a difference touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on her community. She also cherished her time serving God and fellowshipping under the leadership of late pastor Sims and Philippa Jones
While she found great joy in serving others, Renee's greatest pride and accomplishment was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend whose unconditional love, strength, and wisdom created a foundation for those she cherished. She was known for her warm heart, infectious smile, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved.
Renee was preceded in death by Kenneth McKay Sr., Ralph Paradise; Jack and Viola Harvey, Joseph and Lillian McCrae; Robert Stubbs and Edwin Henry; and Shalunda Butler.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved children: Gregory D. McKay Sr.; Tyneshia Renee McKay (India); Santana Maria McKay (Byron Thompson); and Savannah Maria McKay.
She is also survived by her loving mother, Emma Lee Paradise; her cherished grandmother, Viola Florine Carter; and her siblings: Gloria Grant (David), Kenneth McKay Jr. (Mary Jo), Velma Allen (Lonnie), Michael L. McKay (Sharon), Jimmy McCrae (Claudette), Mary Ann Bletcher (James), Harold McKay (Shacarol), Maylinda Murphy (Clarence), Patricia Blondshine (Don), Lasongia Russell (Corey), Angela Williams (Ricky), Mia Smith, and Tyneshia Shropshire (Broderick).
She also leaves behind her dear friends, Denise Calderwood, Lisa Jenkins, Rayfield Gilyard and Val Galvin, along with a host of eleven loving grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Though Renee’s earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of love, generosity and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful testament to compassion, faith, and the power of giving. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered forever.
